Description
The Sakyas and Koliyas considered themselves to be high-caste and Prasenjeet of low caste. Inorder to upgrade his caste, Prasenjeet wanted to marry a sakyan princess which was not acceptable to them. But they could not displease him either. Therefore they deceitfully announced the slave girl Vasabhakhattiya as princess and got her married to him. To Vasabhakhattiya was born a son named Vidudabha. Later when he came to know the truth about Vasabhakhattiya he was mad with rage. When he acquired the throne after Prasenjeet he declared war against the sakyans inorder to take revenge. It was this poisonous caste system which destroyed the sakyans.
