Description
Uddaka Rāmaputta was the other eminent teacher of higher jhanas. Ascetic Siddhartha went to his ashram and learnt the eighth jhana from him. However, he was not yet satisfied. He wanted to experience the reality of going beyond all existences, the state that is permanent, eternal, deathless and immortal. Therefore, he thanked Āchārya Uddaka Rāmaputta and left on his search for enlightenment.
